Water/Wastewater Operator
Status: Part-Time until trained (30 hours) / Full-Time once trained (40+ hours)
Regular/Temporary: Regular
Shift: Monday – Friday until trained. Saturday – Wednesday after training. Daytime.
Location: 203 Bedford Street, Wood, PA 16694 / 309 Lincoln Street, Robertsdale, PA 16674

Title and starting pay rate of this position may vary based on multiple factors.

Purpose:
The Water/Wastewater Operator position requires a strong independent worker capable of carrying out
Water/Wastewater tasks to meet or exceed all required regulations and provide safe clean drinking
water to the local communities.

Responsibilities:
• Operation of Water/Wastewater treatment plants.
• Performs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Water/Wastewater permits and reporting as required.
• Mix/Maintain/Calculate chemicals as needed.
• Water/Wastewater sampling as required.
• Water/Wastewater testing as required.
• Use and maintenance of pumps, valves, meters, etc.
• Find/Repair leaks as necessary.
• Install/Repair/Replace water meters as necessary.
• Service/Maintain distribution system as necessary.
• Service/Maintain water sources as necessary.
• Read water meters throughout service area.
• Minor billing tasks as needed.
• Grass mowing/Weed trimming as necessary.
• Light housekeeping tasks (take out trash, sweep floors, etc…).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s License.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Lives within 25 miles of Location listed above.
• Water/Wastewater certifications within 1 year of hire.
• Able to lift/move 80 pounds.
• Drug screen required.
• Background checks required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
